Measure everything when you make the recipe and then weigh the final total amount of the whole thing. When you create the recipe in My Fitness Pal, use the total weight as the number of servings, that way when you have a serving of say, 200 grams worth, you can use that as the number of servings. Hope that makes sense! For that particular recipe though, I would probably enter the tofu separately into MFP, then maybe create a recipe for the salad and sauce. It depends if you plan to mix it all together or not. You can also create “meals” in MFP so you can use them over and over again.

I am vegan and started the IIFYM this week. I am planning to make your recipe for chopped salad with spicy peanut sauce and crispy tofu tonight…I haven’t tried to figure out macros yet for a recipe. Do you have any pointers? Thanks and love your site! Christy

My fiancĂ© and I are new to vegan, switching from Paleo to vegan; so I’ve dived deep into research about this transition. Does anyone recommend any vegan protein bars for on the go?

Any other helpful hints and tips would be great!
Thanks!

Most vegan recipes have so much salt, fat and sugar.
I’m taking part in a study of cardiac patients at Kaiser Riverside Hospital given by DASH. – no meat, no poultry, no fish, no dairy, no eggs and very limited salt, fat (except for plants like avocados,, nuts, ec.), no refined sugar (dates, prunes, figs, etc. OK.),. At first I was overwhelmed at the shopping and cooking required, but now find it very simple with just a bit of planning. Looking forward to your eating plan and recipes. I’ve collected some favorites, but always looking for more. The real problem I have is eating out. Even vegan restaurants aren’t quite right. So far my best solution is to just order a baked potato., vegetables and a salad with no sauces on anything. All worth it as my heart medications were just reduced by about half!
